The news from Eagles camp is that cornerbackNnamdi Asomugha’s collision with safetyNate Allen looked worse than it felt.
Asomugha did wind up with a busted lip and sore neck after running into his secondary mate, but the Eagles say that he has no symptoms of a concussion after being evaluated by the team’s medical staff.
Despite the scary scene on Monday, Allen said that there won’t be much of an attempt to avoidthese kinds of collisions in the future.
“I saw him, but I figured when you’re out there, you’re just playing fast and things happen; you collide sometimes,” Allen said, via Zach Berman of the Philadelphia Inquirer. “But you’ve got to go for the ball. You can’t dodge each other.”
Asomugha isn’t with the Eagles at their morning walkthrough Tuesday, according to Reuben Frank of CSNPhilly.com, and his status for the afternoon practice is unknown at this point. Even without a concussion, you’d imagine the Eagles are going to proceed cautiously with Asomugha’s return to the field after dodging such a big bullet.
